11月21日 Roll-ups in Business Scorecard ManagerCommon question we've been seeing: What happens when you don't have all the data you need when you need to calculate a roll-up?
Here are the options:
1) Don't show a roll-up.
If you're measuring product defects and all the numbers have yet to be submitted then it may be misleading to say that everything is going well. The fact is that you really don't know what the status is until all the testing is done.
This is what appears by default in MOBSM.
2) Show unsubmitted values as zero.
If you're measuring sales, you may want to show unsubmitted numbers as zero to show how far off we are from our targets as we go through the process. In some cases, unsubmitted numbers really are zero.
You can configure your cube to do this be default by zeroing out empty values. 3) Don't count unsubmitted values
Suppose you're measuring average customer satisfaction scores across regions. Some regions may not even be running surveys this quarter and so they don't have values to submit. It doesn't make sense for them to be zero, and it does make sense to calculate the average score even without all the data.
You can exclude KPIs by setting their weight to zero (they'll still display but won't be counted). If you're using cube values you can exclude members using MDX row headers. See "Store Sales (Advanced)" sample that's installed with the product for some examples of how this is used _____ This posting provided AS IS with no warranties and confers no rights 评论 (2)
